specific latent heat of fusion is exactly the quantity of heat required to melt or freeze a substance but if you take a look at the word 'specific' this should give the impression of just a unit mass it's not the whole heat but it's the heat for just 1 mass for example
let's say latent heat for some substance is 24J/kg it means 24J of heat will melt or freeze just 1kg of the substance but suppose you have 2kg of the substance then it becomes 24×2 and so on so it's not the heat to melt the whole mass of lead it's just to melt a unit mass or 1kg and not only does it involve melting it involves freezing too but it all happens at the same temperature this makes C correct
