It is descending not ascending so you have to minus a from g
F=M(g - a)
F=1000(10 - 1)
F= 9000N

Image

T=M(g-a)
M=1000kg
a=1m/s
g=10m/s
- sign due to descending

T=1000(10-1)
T=1000*9
T=9000N

wrong when moving downwards the body doesnt press down with more force
it should be g-a

Downward acceleration
T=mg-ma
g is greater than a
T=1000(10-1)
T=9000N @myschool
Pls make corrections

Its descending so total acceleration shuld b 10-1=9

It is sending so G is greater

you didnt give us total acceleration as 11

No explanation on how to solve it correctly?

when moving down or descending you are under the influence of gravity in addition to your acceleration same thing as in a lift
that being said it should be M(g+a)= 11,000

Tension = W + F

W = mg

= 1000kg × 10m/s2

= 10000N

F = ma

= 1000 × 1

= 1000N

Tension = 10000N + 1000N

= 11000N
