Density= Mass/vol.

Let's call it D1 and D2,V1 and V2
MASS OF 1
D1=1
V1=40
Mass of 1= Density × vol
=40×1
= 40

D2=1.6
V2=60
Mass of 2=mass x vol
=60×1.6
=96.

TOTAL MASS=96+40
=136
TOTAL VOLUME=60+40=100

NOW WE HAVE THE TOTAL MASS & VOLUME. Let's find the total density
Mass= vol x density
136=100 x d
d=136/100
= 1.36
