The correct answer is Reflection----as sound waves are forwarded into the bottom of an Ocean in order to determine its depth,it strikes the bottom of the ocean and a phenomenon called REFLECTION occurs. This reflections are heard as an Echo after such incidence.

Those in the submarine check the distance between them and the seabed by sending an echo. The time taken for the sound to return back to them helps to calculate the distance. DAMOLISO is right. Bats uses this mechanism to fly since they are blind.

echo sounding can be used in measuring the depth of the sea
and echos are the reflection of sound waves so the answer is reflection

i think its meant to be refraction cos refraction occur wen an object enters another medium, also refractive index is abt real depth/apparent depth.
bt reflection talks about an object changing direction wen it hits an obstacle

D. Reflection
Explanation:
The depth of the sea is measured using echo sounding, where sound waves are sent down to the seabed and reflect back to the ship. The reflected wave (echo) is used to calculate the depth.
