let this humble one explain

an alpha particle is a helium particle . which has an atomic number of 2 and a mass number of four
hence the (4\2)

So the equation looks like this
U235/92 = 4(4/2) 3(0/-1)

4 is from the four alpha particles in the question
3 is from the three beta particle also in the questions
any questions ? no? good .


then for the alpha particles =( 4* 2) + (3*-1) the ones under times the number outside the brackets cos the atomic number is written below.
our ans is 8*-3 =5
92-5 =87
the same for the mass number (4*4) + (3*0)
=16+0=16
=235-16=219


therefore the ans is U219/87
