Refractive index of glass is always 1.50, of water is 1.33 if it is not given, always remember that..... Thank you

Using displacement = real depth - apparent depth

n = real depth/ apparent depth
Refractive index for glass = 1.50

1.50 = 10/app. depth

App. depth = 10/1.5 = 6.67cm

.: The displacement = 10 - 6.67 = 3.33cm

To further support what sss said, in physics memorize the following:
Refractive index of glass = 1.5
Refractive index of water = 4/3 or 1.333
sin 45 = cos 45 = 0.7071
sin 60 = cos 30 = 0.8660
Specific heat capacity of water = 4200Jkg-1K-1
