if it takes it 6 hours to decay
and twice of the decayed part will decay in the next period
24÷6 =4 times of decay
1kg decayed in the first 6 hours
so 1kg wil double 2kg
2kg will doube to be 4 kg
4kg will double to be 8 kg
1 +2+4+8=15
15/16 is the most appropriate answer

Greetings, The Myschool Team.
The correct answer is A(15/16 kg) and not E(1/16 kg). Note that the question asks for the quantity that decayed, not left. By calculation, the quantity left is 1/16 kg. Thus, the quantity that decayed is(1 - 1/16) kg = 15/16 kg, making A(15/16 kg) the correct answer. Thank you.
