The diagram above illustrates the conversion of a galvanometer of resistance 29 to an ammeter. The galvanometer gives a full-scale deflection for a current of 10mA. Calculate the value of R.

a

2.0 x 103 Ω

b

2.0 x 102 Ω

c

2.0 x 10-1 Ω

d

E=I(R+r)
Since E=Ir
Then
Ir=I(R+r)
10×2=0.01(R+2)
20=0.01R+0.02
20-0.02=0.01R
R=19.98
R=1998
R~2000
I.e 2×10³
So the answer should be A and not D
