The density of a certain oil on frying becomes 0.4 kgm\(^{-3}\) with the volume of 20m\(^{3}\). what will be its initial volume when its initial density is 0.8 kgm\(^{-3}\) assuming no loss of oil due to spillage?

For those that did not understand:
volume=mass/volume
mass is constant as there was no oil spillage so we need to find mass using the first parameters given
v2=20
d2=0.4
d1=0.8
v1=?
M=?
MASS IS CONSTANT THAT MEANS IT IS THE SAME IN BOTH!!!!
we have to find mass, to find mass, mass=volume*density=0.4*20=8
we substitute mass=8 in the initials that is 8/0.8=10
option B

D1V1=D2V2
D1=0.4
V1=20
D2=0.8
V2=?
=0.4×20 = 0.8V2
=8=0.8V2
DBS BY 0.8
V2= 8/0.8
= 10(ANS)

Since the question says that their is no loss of oil, is it possible say that the question implies that mass is constant, ie;
m = Dv then D1v1 = D2v2
Is the formula above also correct?
