Now the air is more like an upward frictional force acting against gravity and has More effect on the feather due to it light nature than on the stone slowing down retardation in the feather. Now if Air is removed, that was why the question said ignoring air resistance this time no upward frictional force therefore both the Stone and feather will at the same time and hit the ground at the same time.
