A motorcycle of mass 100kg moves round in a circle of radius 10m with a velocity of 5 ms\(^{-1}\). find the coefficient of friction between the road and the tyres.
F = \(\frac{mv^2}{\text{r}}\) = \(\frac{100 \times 5^2}{10}\) = 250N
R = mg = 100 x 10 = 1000N
coefficient of friction,
µ = \(\frac{\text{F}}{\text{R}}\) = \(\frac{(250)}{1000}\) = 0.25.
