An immersion heater rated 2.0A, 240V is used to boil water from temperature 52°c to 100°c. If the mass of the water is 2.5kg. determine the time taken to boil the water.

[specific heat capacity of water = 4.2 x 103 jkg-1 k-1]

a

1.05 x 103s

b

1.05 x 105s

c

1.05 x 102s

d

I usually make sure the units work with the figures by dividing and canceling out units to get to an answer. this helps ne sometimes when i forget the formula. i have only to look at the SI units, especially the ones with dimensions, like kgm-³m-³.
which leads me to this question. the temperature was goven in Celsius but specific heat capacity is calculated and uses temperature in kelvin. but there were no actions to convert Celsius to keli. so the answer for time had dimensions of s.⁰C

can i ignore Celsius signs in my future calculations as well?

For a moment there I thought it was supposed to be latent heat of vapirization

Me i thought that it is the formula for quantity of heat that will be used
