Read the question well
It says 'which spectacules should be used to increase his maximum distance of distinct vision to infinity? '........... To infinity, that means the person's farthest point at which the object can be seen clearly is 200cm instead of infinity then definitely he is short-sighted. So therefore, a concave lens(Diverging lens) has to be used for correction.

someone who cannot see far as a short sightedness defect (myopia) and to take the object farther a confex lens is used since a convex lens takes images far away.
