\(\int^{\frac{\pi}{2}} _{\frac{-\pi}{2}} cos x dx = [sinx]^{\frac{\pi}{2}} _{\frac{-\pi}{2}}\)
=sin\(\frac{\pi}{2} - sin\frac{-\pi}{2}\)
= sin90 – sin(-90)
= sin90 – sin270
= 1 – (-1)
= 1+1
= 2
