The answer is not here. The OPPOSITE is the difference of the height of the boy to the top of the three since the boy is taller than the boy (I.e 14-12=2)
Angle of elevation of the top of the three to the boy's eye is given by
Tan∅= opp/hyp
Tan∅= 2/10
∅= tan-1 (1/5)
∅≈ 11°

How do you guy expect us to use sohcahtoa accept for special derivatives without calculator. This questions are pissing me off. Don't forget that we are only entitled to market women calculator

The height of the tree above the boy is 12-1.4=10.6 Using tan#= opposite /adjacent where # is the angle of elevation tan#=10.6/10 hence #= 46.67 degrees ~47⁰

It is wrong to say tan[x]=26/10. The correct workings is tan[x]=2/10, gotten from 14m (the height of the boy) - 12m (the height of the tree)
