I think there isa mistake in the solution b ut the answer is correct:
Let original price = x

x – (20% of x) = #3800 not 100

⇒ x – 0.2x = #3800

⇒ 0.8x = #3800

⇒ x = 38000.8
⇒ x = 4,750

We can actually add 20 + 100 to give us 120 so we divide it by 100 and * it by the amount

a simpler way to solve this is
20% discount means the selling price is 80% of the original price
80% → ₦3800
100% → ?
3800 ÷ 80 = 47.5
47.5 × 100 = ₦4750

this is wrong in my opinion
let the price difference be x
x = 2% (3800)
x = 2÷100 x 3800
x = 0.2 x 3800
x = 760✓
now we know that 20 percent of 3800 is 760
hence the discount can be obtained by adding 760 to 3800
= 4560✓
correct me if am wrong
