The Answer is C
Because as said in January 1998 there are 240,000 population

Solution
240,000 times 2% devide by 100
Equalls to 4800.
This means the 2% of this population added each year is 4800

So then lets go ahead to January 1999. We have 4800,
Then January 2000 again we have 4800.

When you total the number we've got in those 24months
Are 9600 increased in population in 2 years.

9600 +240000
=249,600
Which answer no C

1st year=240,000*2%=4800
therefore 1st year=240000+4800=244,800
2nd year=244800*2%=4896
therefore 2nd year=244,800+4896=249,696🙇
