Bello chooses a number randomly from 1 to 10. What is the probability that it is either odd or prime?
\(\frac{1}{10}\)
\(\frac{2}{5}\)
\(\frac{1}{2}\)
\(\frac{3}{5}\)

I think it's E (9/10) because odd numbers from 1 to 10 are 1,3,5,7,9. Prime numbers from 1 to 10 are 2,3,5,7...in probability, either means "+" so for the odd numbers, we have 5/10 and for the prime numbers, we have 4/10...5/10 + 4/10 = 9/10

The answer that was chosen is different from the answer got in the explanation

just want to make things clear I thought if you see "or" it means+ and you expected to do this.
(4/10) + (5/10)
but instead the explanation said
(add the number of the two results which was "6")/(10)
look really confusing you know 🤦

The answer provided by myschool.ng is 100% correct
Probability is number of possible outcomes/total number of outcomes
the odd AND prime numbers between 1 and 10 are : 1,2,3,5,7,9 (6 possible outcomes)
there are some intersecting numbers between the odd and prime numbers (like 3,5,7) so it won't be counted twice
therefore probability is 6/10 which is 3/5

nope.. It's meant to be B...becuz odd nos BTW 1 and 10..are..1..3..5..7..9..and 9 is not a prime no... So u count the amount of odd nos apart from 9..which are...1..3..5..7 and they are 4 in nos..so it will be 4/10..which is 2/5...so the answer is B
