A flag-pole is placed at the top of a tower. The angle of elevation of the bottom and top of the flag-pole from a point on the ground 10m away are 40° & 50° respectively. What is the length of the flag-pole?

x1 = height of tower : x2 = height of tower and flagpole : Ground = 10 m

x1 = tan(40) * 10 = 8.391 m (approx)

x2 = tan(50) * 10 = 11.9175 m (approx)

x2 - x1 = 11.9175 - 8.391 = 3.5265 m (approx)

Flagpole length = 3.5265 m
