5^(x-2) = (1/125)^(x+3)
since 125 = 5^3
1/125 = 5^-3
5^(x-2) = 5^-3(x+3)
equal bases
x-2 = -3(x+3)
x-2 = -3x-9
take like terms together
x+3x = -9+2
4x = -7
x = -7/4
