Option E is the correct answer.
After getting the value of x to be 0 or 4, you are meant to substitute the value into the equation to obtain the values of Y. Doing so will give the value of Y to be 1 when X is 0, and the value of Y to be 9 when X is 4. Thus, option D is correct.

In fact, a good mathematician does not need to solve. Mere looking at where the curve intersect gives the answer.

The curves intersect at X=0, Y=1 and at X=4, Y=9...... Just take a good look at the graph.

after finding x you are supposed to but the value of x in one of the equation for example y=2x+1 and then y=9 this is because it is a simultaneous equation
