The answer is wrong. The formula is;
X^2+(alpha + beta)X + alpha *beta = 0
X^2 +(-1/4 +3)X + (-1/4 *3) = 0
X^2 +11/4 - 3/4 = 0
Divide through by 4
4X^2 +11 - 3 = 0
