Let 2434 base 6=Y & 42 base 6=Z

Y=(2 x 6^3) + (4 x 6^2) + (3 x 6^1) + (4 x 6^0)

Y=(2 x 216) + (4 x 36) + (3 x 6) + (4 x 1)

Y=432 + 144 + 18 +4

Y=598

Z= 42 base 6

Z=(4 x 6^1) + (2 x 6^0)

Z=(4 x 6) + (2 x 1)

Z=24 + 2

Z=26

.: Y/Z

=598/26

=23 base 6

.: 2432 base 6 divide by 42 base 6 is 23 base 6

=432+144+18+4

=598.

(Hint) -> CONVERTING TO BASE10

1st step- pick each of the numbers given by multiplying it by the given.

2nd step- start from the last on your right by giving the ^power starting from (0 1 2 3......till it get to the left end where you find none to be given.

2434base6 = (2*6)^3 + (4*6)^2 + (3*6)^1 + (4*6)^0

= (2*216) + (4*36) + (3*6) + (4*1)

= 432 + 144 + 18 + 4

= 598base6



42base6 = (4*6)^1 + (2*6)^0

= (4*6) + (2*1)

= 24 + 2

=26base6



now 2434base6 = 598 & 42base6 = 26. divide ( 598/26 = 23base6 )



NOTE: you were solving in base 10 not 6,you need to convert back to base 6.

look I will continue from ifechuks solving after u have divide 598/26=23 to arrive at the perfect and u convert to from base ten to six like 23/6=3r5 while3/6=0r3 u are expected to pic only remender from below link r3 and r5 making 35 base 6

in converting your answer back to base 6, why do you use 6 in dividing when there are small numbers that can divide it and why dividing using six,how do you get 6 into 3 and it will give you 0 R 3 ,can I get an explanation
