The way he solved it isnt orrect... the locus of DAT point denotes an isosceles triangle. so the angles of d base is equal since PQ=PR ( according to d question). Thus, the sum of angles in a triangle = 180;



angle P + angle R + angle Q = 180



angle P + 30° + 30°=180°



angle P = 180°-60°



angle P= 120°.



we can also find QR by using Sine formlae;



8/ sin30 = x/ sin 120



cross multiply..



8sin120= xsin30



8×√3/2 = x/2



cross multiply and solve for x



x = 8√3

The answer selected is only half of QR. It should be multiplied by 2 to give the answer as 8√3cm
