Sociology and Anthropology can be studied under the Social & Management Sciences in the following Nigerian Universities;

In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Sociology and Anthropology under the Faculty of Social & Management Sciences in the above listed universities include;
Three (3) Social Science or Arts Subjects
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(1) UNIBEN accepts two Social Science subjects and any other subject.
(2) OAU requires English Language, Mathematics, and any two (2) from Literature in English, Geography, Christian Religious Studies/ Islamic Studies/Government, History, Economics.
(3) EBSU requires Government/History plus two other social science/Arts subject.
(4) ESUT requires Government
The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Sociology and Anthropology;
You require;Five (5) SSC credit passes in Government or History, English Language and three (3) other subjects. A pass in Mathematics is required.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(1) EBSU requires 'O' level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, History/Government/Economics one science subject and any Arts or social science subject.
(2) OAU accepts Five ‘O’ level credit passes to include Mathematics and History or Economics or Geography
(3) UNIUYO requires at least 'O' Level pass in Mathematics
(4) UNN requires five O' level credit passes which must include English Language, one Science subject, and at least three (3) Arts or Social Science subjects.
(5) ESUTECH requires a credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Government and any two Arts or Social Science subjects.
(6) UNIBEN requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics and any two (2) Social Science subjects
(7) OAU requires English Language, Mathematics and at least two Social Science and ones Arts subject.
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Sociology and Anthropology, if you don't intend to use UTME.
You require;Two (2) 'A' Level passes including Government or History.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(1) UNN accepts two (2) 'A' Level passes in Social Science or Arts subjects in addition to the UTME requirements
(2) UNIBEN requires two (2) 'A' Level passes including any Social Science subject; ND upper credit/HND lower credit in relevant Social Science programmes such as public Administration, Mass Communication; NCE overall merit with a credit in relevant Social Science subject. Direct Entry candidates must satisfy the UTME requirements.
(3) EBSU accepts HND, NCE and ND with a minimum of Merit and Upper credit respectively in relevant fields.
(4) UNIUYO accepts ND/HND/NCE in relevant fields plus UTME requirements.
(5) OAU requires
a. 'A' Level passes in any three (3) from Geography, Government, History, Economics, Sociology, Christian Religious Studies/ Islamic Studies.
b. ND/HND upper credit in Mass Communication, Social Work, Mathematics/Statistics. .
(6) OAU accepts two (2) 'A' Level passes in subjects such as Economics, Geography, Government / History
(7) NDU accepts:
a. Two ‘A’ level passes in Government, Economics, Religious Knowledge, Geography, and History.
b. National Diploma in related area, provided such diploma is passed at upper credit level.
c. N.C.E. in related area at credit level.
(8) ESUT requires two A’ level passes including Government or History plus UTME requirements. Accepts ND in Social Work/Development and Administration, with at least a merit pass plus UTME requirements
