In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Geophysics under the Faculty of Sciences in the above listed universities include;
Physics Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNILAG require Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
(ii) FUPRE requires Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.
(iii) FUOYE requires Physics and Mathematics, Chemistry or Biology.
(iv) OSUSTECH requires Physics, Mathematics and any one of Chemistry, Biology and Geography.
The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Geophysics;
You require;Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Biology
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) ATBU- In addition to the UTME requirements, a credit pass in Geography will be an advantage.
(ii) UNILAG requires Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
(iii) FUPRE requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes including English Language, Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
(iv) FUOYE accepts five (5) credits passes in SSC (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
(v) OSUSTECH requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology /Geography.
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Geophysics, if you don't intend to use UTME.
You require;'A' level passes in Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) ATBU requires 'A' level passes in Physics and Mathematics. 'A' level pass in Geology will be an advantage
(ii) OSUSTECH requires
(a) Two A’ level passes in Physics and Chemistry or Geography.
(b) National Diploma (ND) with Distinction and Credit passes in relevant subjects.
(iii) UNILAG accepts very good passes in the following three JUPEB/A-LEVEL subjects: Physics Chemistry Mathematics
(iv) FUOYE requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Physics, Mathematics or Chemistry
(v) OSUSTECH requires
(a) Two (2) 'A' level passes in Physics and Chemistry or Geography.
(b) ND distinction or credit in relevant programmes.
(vi) FUPRE requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics
