SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) ABU requires For Industrial Design; Fine Arts and any two (2) subjects. For Glass Technology; Chemistry, Physics and any other Science Subject.

(ii) BASU accepts Chemistry, Mathematics and one of Fine Arts, Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science or Geography.

(iii) FUTA accepts Chemistry, Mathematics, and any of Economics, Biology, Geography, and Technical Drawing.

(iv) MAUTECH requires Geography and any Two of Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and Fine Arts.

O'level Requirements

Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Fine Art, Mathematics, Chemistry. Spinning; Weaving; Surface Design and Printing; Bleaching, Dyeing and Finishing; Ceramics; Graphic Design; Graphic Printing; Decorative Painting, Spray  Painting, Lining, Sign and Design, Wall Hanging, Colour Mixing/Matching and Glazing, Building/Engineering Drawing, General Wood Work. 

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i)  ABU requires For Industrial Design; five ‘O’ level credit passes which must include English Language, Fine Arts/Technical Drawing/Visual Arts/Fashion Design/Painting and Decoration/Printing/Ceramics and any 3 subjects with at least pass in Mathematics.

(ii) BASU requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, any two (2) from Fine Arts, Building Construction, Engineering Drawing and one of Chemistry, Physics, Agricultural Science or Geography.

(iii) FUTA requires five (5) SSC credit passes or its equivalent at a maximum of two (2) sittings in the following subjects:    English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, and any other two of the following: Economics, Physics, Technical Drawing, Fine Art and Geography. Credit or Pass in Fine Art will be an additional advantage.

(iv) MAUTECH requires Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics and any Three from Technical Drawing, Fine Art, Visual Arts, Graphic Design, Garment Making, Dying and Bleaching, Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Agric. Science Spinning; Weaving; Surface Design and Printing; Finishing; Ceramics; Graphic Design; Graphic Printing; Decorative Painting, Spray Painting, Lining, Sign and Design, Wall Hanging, Colour Mixing/Matching and Glazing.

Direct Entry Requirements

The direct entry requirements for Industrial Design in the Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Technology are as follows:

(i)   'A' Level passes in Two (2) of Fine Arts, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.

(ii)  ND in Industrial Design or Glass Technology or Fine Art at credit level.


SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) ABU accepts:  For Industrial Design;

a. two(2) ‘A’ level/ IJMB passes in Fine Arts and any other subject.

b. NCE pass at merit level which must include Fine Arts or Technical Drawing.

c. ABU Diploma in Industrial Design at merit level.

d. ND at Upper Credit level in Industrial Design/fine Arts or in related fields from an accredited institution.

e. HND at Lower Credit level in Industrial Design or Fine Arts or in related fields from an accredited institution.

f.HND at Lower Credit in Textile, Clothing and Fashion. 

(ii) BASU accepts ND/HND upper credit NCE Double Major in Fine Arts, 'A' Level in Fine and Applied Arts.

(iii) FUTA accepts;

a)  ‘A’ Level Credit in Cambridge International Examination (CIE), Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE), Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board Examination (JUPEBE), or two (2) of its equivalent; or

b) GCE (Advanced Level) with minimum of Credit in at least two (2) subjects from the following: English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, Physics, Fine Art, Technical Drawing or Economics; or

c) ND with a minimum of Upper Credit from recognised institutions with credit in relevant subjects in the ND examinations.

(iv) MAUTECH accepts

a) GCE/IJMB 'A' Level passes in Two (2) of Fine Arts, Technical Drawing. Mathematics and Physics. 

b) ND/HND in Industrial Design, Glass Technology, Fine Art, Architectural Technology, and other relevant Discipline at credit level. 

c) NCE Double Major in Arts and Design.
