Special Education can be studied under the Education in the following Nigerian Universities;
UNIJOS: offers this course with options in

2) Learning Disabilities
3) Hearing Handicap
4) Rehabilitation Sciences
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Special Education under the Faculty of Education in the above listed universities include;
Any three Subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) KWASU requires Mathematics plus other two (2) Science or Social Science subjects.
(ii) FUDMA requires English Language and any other three subjects of Arts, Social Sciences or Science subjects.
The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Special Education;
You require;Five (5) 'O' Level credit passes including English Language.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
1. KWASU requires 'O' Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, any one (1) of Health Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics, plus two (2) of Geography, Economics or Government.
2. UNIJOS requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes to include English Language and Mathematics. TC II merit in English and NCE General English are taken as equivalents of 'O' Level credit pass in English Language. Candidates without credit pass in 'O' Level Mathematics may be admitted but must either register and pass remedial Mathematics or 'O' Level credit pass in Mathematics before graduation.
3.UI requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes at one (1) sitting including English Language and four (4) other subjects from Arts, Social Sciences and Sciences.
4. FUL requires Five (5) TC II merit, 'O' level or NTC/NBC credit passes including English Language (pass in English is accepted with hearing impairment while pass in Mathematics with Visual impairment)
5. FUDMA Five ‘O’ level Credits to include English Language, Mathematics and any three of Arts, Social Sciences or Science subjects.
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Special Education, if you don't intend to use UTME.
You require;(i) Two (2) 'A' Level passes in Arts or Social Science subjects.
(ii) NCE merit in Arts or Social Science subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNICAL accepts three (3)-year programme for candidates with NCE in Special Education/Physical and Health Education.
(ii) UI insists on teaching subjects offered at University of Ibadan.
(iii) UNIJOS accepts 'A' Level at principal level, two (2) NCE merit, IJMB passes at principal level, all in the relevant subjects and candidates must also meet UTME requirements. Jos accepts NCE General English Language and Communication skills as equivalent of 'O' Level credit pass in English Language for Education courses only.
(iv) FUL accepts (i) Two (2) 'A' level passes in Arts or Social Science subjects
(v) FUDMA accepts Two ‘A’ level passes in relevant area or from Arts and Social Science subjects from a recognized institution. ND/NCE not below lower credit or nine (9) points in the relevant area from a recognized institution.
(vi) KWASU accepts
a)NCE or 'A' Level certificate, plus five (5) credit passes in 'O' Level including English Language, and any four (4) of the following subjects; Health Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography and Economics, at one (1) or two (2) sittings.
b)a pass is required for Inclusive Education programme.
