In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Educational Technology / Introductory Technology under the Faculty of Education in the above listed universities include;
Mathematics, Physics and one other Science subject.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) BSU requires Mathematics, Physics and any one of Chemistry, Biology, Economics or Geography.
(ii) UNILORIN - For Educational Technology/Introductory Technology requires English Language, minor subject, and ANY other two subjects selected from Arts and Social Science, Subjects, OR English Language, minor subject, and ANY other two subjects selected from Science and Technical, Subjects, OR English Language and any other three Social Sciences subjects.
The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Educational Technology / Introductory Technology;
You require;Five SSCE credits to include Physics or Mathematics.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNILORIN – For Educational Technology/Introductory Technology requires credits in English and Mathematics, in the minor subject, and any other three O/Level subjects selected from Arts and Social Science Subjects, OR Credits in English and Mathematics, in the minor subject, and any other three O/Level subjects selected from Science or Technical Subjects, OR Credits in English and Mathematics, and any other three O/Level selected from Social Sciences subjects.
(ii) BSU - Candidates must possess a minimum of five Credits at not more than two (2) sittings at SSC (or its equivalent) or federal craft certificate. This includes credit in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any one of Social Sciences or Technical Drawing and a Technological subject area such as Woodwork, Metalwork, Electronics, Electronics, Electrical Installation, etc.
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Educational Technology / Introductory Technology, if you don't intend to use UTME.
You require;1. Two ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics.
2. ND with at least lower credit in Civil Engineering, Production/Elect. Engineering.
3. Final City and Guilds or its equivalent plus National Technical Certificate.
4. NCE in Tech. Education plus credit pass in Physics or Mathematics.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNILORIN – For Educational Technology/Introductory Technology requires;
a) NCE with not less than Merit in any of Arabic, Christian Religious Studies, English Language, Fine and Applied Arts, French, History, Islamic Studies, Nigerian Languages. Any three (3) relevant subjects in IJMB and JUPEB.
b) NCE with not less than Merit in any of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Health Education, Human Kinetics, Integrated Science, Mathematics, Physics, Technology Education, and National Diploma (ND) with not less than Lower Credit in A-V Technology; Electrical/ Mechanical/ Civil Engineering/ Woodwork/ Metallurgical, Computer Science, Mass Communication and Computer Science. Any three relevant subjects in IJMB and JUPEB.
c) NCE with not less than Merit in any of Accounting, Economics, Geography, Political Science, Social Studies. Any three relevant subjects in IJMB and JUPEB.Minor subject can be from any of the subjects outlined under Direct Entry requirement. Unilorin Diploma in Instructional Radio & Television Production and Diploma in Photography is acceptable for Direct Entry Admission.
(ii)BSU requires;
a) ND/HND with Upper Credit pass in a specialized area of Industrial or Engineering Technology.
b) Candidates should also satisfy University ‘O’ Level requirements.
c) NCE with 9 points and above with a pass in English language in General studies & HND holders undergo the programme for three years. NCE use of English is acceptable in lieu of ‘O’ level in English Language.
d) ‘A’ level pass in any of the acceptable subjects.
e) Preliminary degree candidates (from Benue State University only). Must pass at least five (5) out of the six (6) subjects studies with pass level of at least 50% in each subject.
