Education Fine and Applied Arts can be studied under the Education in the following Nigerian Universities;
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Education Fine and Applied Arts under the Faculty of Education in the above listed universities include;
Fine Arts, one other Arts subject and any other subject
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) BENIN accepts Fine Arts, one (1) Arts subject and any other subject.
(ii) IAUED accepts one (1) relevant Science subject and two (2) other Science subjects. Fine Arts is not compulsory.
(iii) DELSU requires Fine Art, or Visual Arts, one Arts subject and one other subject from Arts/Social Science/Science.
(iv) IAUE requires English Language and any three (3) from the following: History, Government, Economics, Religious and Cultural Studies, Music, Fine Art, Commerce, Igbo, Literature in English, Social Studies, Accounting, or any other course in the Arts or Social Sciences.
The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education Fine and Applied Arts;
You require;Five (5) 'O' Level credit passes or TC II or NTC/NBC merit including Fine Art and English Language.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNIBEN requires other subjects from History, French, Fine Art, Government, Religious Studies and Literature in English.
(ii) OAU requires 'O’ Level credit passes or TC II merit in five (5) subjects including Fine Arts and English Language.
(iii) IAUE requires SSCE or GCE ‘O’ level with five (5) credit passes at not more than two sittings including English Language and Mathematics. The other three subjects could be chosen from the Arts or Social Sciences. Candidates without a credit in Fine Art at a single sitting or Five (5) credit passes without Fine Art may be considered where need be. Grade II Teacher’s Certificate, graduates from a technical college with NABTEB, NTC, City and Guilds coupled with the Federal Craft and Certificate in related courses, e.g., painting and decorations, interior and exterior decorations, art and craft, etc are accepted with credit passes including English language and Fine Arts.
(iv) DELSU requires five ‘O’ Level credits in Fine Arts or Visual Arts and English Language, Mathematics, one Arts subject and two (2) other Arts/Social Science/Science subjects.
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Education Fine and Applied Arts, if you don't intend to use UTME.
You require;1. NCE merit passes in Fine and Applied Arts. (Double Major).
2. A/Level passes in Fine Arts and any other subject.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) OAU accepts 'A' Level or NCE credit/merit in Fine Arts and one (1) other Arts subject plus three(3) 'O' Level credit passes /TC II credit or merit in subjects including English Language.
(ii) UNN accepts ND, not below credit. Candidates may be invited for practical interviews.
(iii) UNIBEN accepts
(a) 'A' Level Fine and Applied Arts and any of English Language, Literature in English, Religious Studies, French or History/Government.
(b) three (3) or two (2) 'O' Level credit passes including Fine and Applied Arts and other subjects from English Language, Literature in English, Religious Studies, French, History /Government plus two (2) or three (3) NCE merit which should include Fine and Applied Arts.
(iv) DELSU requires OND in Fine Arts with minimum overall of Lower credit or ‘A’ Level passes in Fine and Applied Arts and at least one other Arts subject.
(v) IAUED: Applicants who hold the NCE with a merit level and above from the Ignatius Ajuru University of education or any other recognized institution will be admitted for the BA.Ed. programme in addition to completing the JAMB (Direct Entry) requirements.
