Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements


In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Education and Social Science under the Faculty of Education in the above Universities include;

Any three (3) Social Science subjects.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

1. UNN requires

(i)for Education/Geography: English Language, Geography, plus any other two (2) subjects

(ii)for Education/Economics: English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any other Social Sciences subjects.

(iii)for Education/Political Science: English Language, Government, plus any other two (2) subjects.

(iv)For Education/Social Studies: English Language, plus any other three (3) Social Sciences/Arts subjects.

2. UNIPORT requires Mathematics, Economics/Government and any other subject from French, Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Physics, Igbo/Hausa/Yoruba, Fine Art, Geography, Commerce, Accounting.

 

O'Level Requirements


The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education and Social Science;

You require;

Five (5) 'O' Level credit passes or equivalent to include English Language and Mathematics.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

1. UNN requires

(a)five (5) 'O' Level credit passes including English Language, a science subject and the subject to be combined with education.

(b)for Social Studies/Education: 'O' Level credit passes in three (3) Social Science or Arts subjects are required.

(c)'O' Level credit passes in Mathematics and Economics for Education/Economics.

(d)'O' Level credit pass in Government for Political Science/Education

(e)'O' Level credit pass in Geography, plus any other three (3) subjects and a pass in Mathematics for Education/Geography.

2. EBSU requires 'O' Level credit pass in Mathematics.

3. UNIPORT requires Five (5) O Level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics/Government and any other two subjects from French, Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Physics, Igbo/Hausa/Yoruba, Fine Art, Geography, Commerce, Accounting.

4. NDU requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and any other three (3)relevant subjects, two (2) of which must be Social Sciences subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.

Direct Entry Requirements


These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Education and Social Science, if you don't intend to use UTME.

You require;

(i) NCE in two (2) relevant subjects.

(ii)Two (2) 'A' Level passes in relevant subjects.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

1. EBSU require 'O' Level credit pass in Mathematics for Economics and 'O' Level pass for other options. EBSU accepts NCE Social Studies.

2. UNIPORT accepts Two (2) A/level GCE or HSC or JUPEB or IJMB passes in the relevant subjects including UTME entry requirements. NCE with Credit Passes in the relevant subjects including UTME entry requirements from recognized Institutions for a 2-year degree programme.OND with (Upper Credit) or HND with Merit Pass in the relevant subjects including UTME entry requirements from recognized Institutions of higher learning.

3. UNN accepts

a.UTME requirements plus two (2) 'A' Level passes in relevant subjects.

b.NCE merit/credit passes in addition to TC II or O’ level credit passes in relevant subjects.

c.Candidates must satisfy the UTME requirements

d.Candidates with ND at distinction, credit and merit levels in other disciplines who possess the University’s requirements plus relevant 'O' Level credit passes may be offered admission but will run the four (4)-year programme.
4. NDU accepts:

Direct Entry Applicants into 300 Level in a 4-year Degree Programme

a.NCE credit or higher in two (2) major subjects in relevant areas.

b.HND Certificate with passes at credit level or higher in a relevant programme.

c.For B.Ed Technology programme Holders of NCE and HND credit or higher in the relevant programme.

Direct Entry Applicants into 200 Level in a 4-year Degree Programme

a.Two(2) ‘A’ Level passes in relevant subjects.

b.ND credit or upper credit in a relevant programme.

c.NCE merit in two (2) relevant subjects.

d.For B.Ed Technology programme, holders of NCE, City and Guilds, NBC/NTC merit in relevant subjects.
