Education and Islamic Studies can be studied under the Education in the following Nigerian Universities;
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Education and Islamic Studies under the Faculty of Education in the above listed universities include;
Islamic Studies/Arabic and two (2) other Social Science or Arts subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNILAG requires any three (3) of Islamic Studies and any two (2) of Literature-in-English, History/Government, French/Arabic, Geography, Mathematics, Yoruba/Igbo, Christian Religious Studies, Economics/Commerce.
(ii) TASUED requires any three (3) subjects from Arts/Social Science.
(iii) FUAM requires Islamic Studies and two (2) subjects from Arts.
(iv) UMYU requires Islamic Studies and any other two (2) Arts or Social Science subjects
(v) UNILORIN requires Islamic studies and any other two (2) arts subjects.
(vi) ABU requires Use of English, Islamic Studies and any other two arts or social science subjects
The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education and Islamic Studies;
You require;Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Islamic Studies and three (3) other relevant subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) ABU requires NCE with a minimum of ‘C’ grade in Islamic Studies and Education. IJMB with a minimum of ‘E’ grade in all the three subjects including I.R.S. ABU Diploma in Islamic Studies with a minimum of Merit Pass. ND in Islamic Studies from any Institution with a minimum of Lower Credit.
(ii) OOU does not accept Social Science subjects
(iii) UNILAG requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Islamic Studies (I.R.S) and two (2) of Literature in English, any Nigerian Language, History/Government, French/Arabic, Economics/Commerce, Civic Education/Social Studies.
(iv) LASU requires 'O' Level credit pass in Mathematics.
(v) UNIABUJA requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes or its equivalent to include Mathematics, English Language, Arabic/Islamic Studies and two (2) other relevant Arts subjects.
(vi) UMYU requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes at SSC, HIS or SIS in English Language, Mathematics, Islamic Studies and any other two (2) Arts or Social Science subjects at not more than two sittings.
(vii)TASUED requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes at one (1) sitting or six (6) 'O' Level credit passes at two (2) sittings to include English Language and other subjects in Arts/ Social Science.
(viii) UNILORIN accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level, GCE/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB/ SIS/Equivalent Credit Passes in English Language, Mathematics, and any other two Arts subjects. Diploma candidates must have credits in English Language, Islamic Studies, and other three Arts subjects.
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Education and Islamic Studies, if you don't intend to use UTME.
You require;(i) NCE merit in Islamic Studies and Education.
(ii) 'A' Level passes in Arabic/ Islamic Studies and any other relevant subject.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) ABU accepts NCE with a minimum of ‘C’ grade in Islamic Studies and Education. IJMB with a minimum of ‘E’ grade in all the three subjects including I.R.S. ABU Diploma in Islamic Studies with a minimum of Merit Pass. ND in Islamic Studies from any Institution with a minimum of Lower Credit.
(ii) GOMSU accepts a combined Diploma in Hausa, Arabic and Islamic Studies.
(iii) UNILORIN accepts NCE in Islamic Studies and one Arts Subject; Diploma in Islamic Studies with at least Lower credit. Two A/L Passes to include Islamic Studies.
(iv) UMYU accepts candidates with 9 points in IJMB/HSC/GCE ‘A’ Level in Islamic Studies and any other relevant subject. Candidates with a minimum of lower credit pass in Diploma in Islamic Education from recognized institutions may also be admitted.
(v)TASUED accepts two (2) 'A' Level passes/NCE merit in Islamic Studies and other Arts or Social Science subjects. Diploma in Arabic/Islamic Studies from recognised institutions is also accepted.
(vi) UNILAG accepts
(a) NCE credit/merit in Islamic Studies.
(b)very good passes in three (3) JUPEB subjects: Islamic Studies and any two (2) of Government/History, Literature in English, French, Yoruba/Igbo and Economics.
(c)Two (2) 'A' Level passes in relevant teaching subjects.
(d)Candidate must satisfy the UTME requirements.
