O'Level Requirements


The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education and Chemistry;

You require;

Five (5) SSC credits in Mathematics, Chemistry, English Language and two (2) of Physics, Biology and Agricultural Science.
 

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) AAUA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics and any two (2) of Physics, Biology and Agricultural Science.

(ii) ABU accepts Five ‘O’ level credit which must include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology, plus Physics/Geography. TC II with credit pass in Integrated Science, English Language, Mathematics and any other two subjects.

 (iii) BUK requires five (5) ‘O' Level credit passes in Chemistry, Mathematics, English language and two (2) other Science subjects.

(iv) OOU, ABU and LASU accept TC II at merit level.

(v) CRUTECH, ABU, UDUSOK and IAUED accept a pass in English Language.

(vi)  FUTMINNA requires 'O' Level credit in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science or Geography and other Science subjects.

(vii) RSU accepts 'O' Level pass in English Language.

(viii)  IBBU and IMSU do not accept Agricultural Science.

(ix)  LASU and IAUED require ‘O’ Level credit pass in Biology.

(x)  TASUED requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes at one (1)sitting or six (6) 'O' Level credit passes at two (2) sittings including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, and any other two (2) or three (3) subjects from Biology, Geography, Physics, Agricultural Science, Further Mathematics and Economics.

(xi) UNIOSUN accepts five (5) 'O' Level credit passes or its equivalents in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry to form the core subjects, with 'O' Level credit in one (1) other relevant Science subject at not more than two (2) sittings.

(xii) OAU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics, Chemistry, English Language and two (2) of Physics, Biology and Agricultural Science.

(xiii) UNN requires five (5) 'O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics and two (2) other Science subjects.

(xiv) UNILAG requires Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and any two of Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science.

(xv) TASUED requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at one (1) sitting or six (6) ‘O’ Level credit passes at two (2) sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and others from Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science, and Geography.

(xvi)  FUDMA  requires five(5) 'O' Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

(xvii)  LCITY accepts 'O' Level credit passes at SSC or its equivalent in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and any other subject.

(xviii)   DELSU requires SSC 'O’ Level with credit passes in at least (5)   subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Chemistry.

Direct Entry Requirements


These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Education and Chemistry, if you don't intend to use UTME.

You require;

Two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE passes including Chemistry and one (1) other Science subject


SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) OAU, UDUSOK, EKSU, UNICAL, and UNIJOS require 'A’ Level passes in either Physics or Mathematics. EKSU- Mathematics only. CALABAR accepts NCE credit or merit in Chemistry and one (1) other subject.

(ii) EKSU, FUTMINNA, UNIBEN, OAU and UNN, accept NCE in Science subjects.

(iii) RSU, FUTMINNA and MAUTECH accept NCE merit and ND/HND lower credit.

(vi)    UNILAG accepts:
     (a)   Very good passes in the following JUPEB subjects: Chemistry, Physics, and Biology and 'O’ Level requirements for Direct Entry.
    (b)   NCE credit/merit in Chemistry and any other Science subject.

(v) EKSU and UNIJOS accept 'O' Level credit passes in Mathematics and English language.

           (a) NCE merit

           (b) Pass in General English at NCE as equivalent to 'O' Level credit pass in English.

           (c) JOS does not accept NCE Integrated Science.

(vi)     IMSU accepts NCE merit in Education and the two (2) subjects to be combined with education into 300 level and below merit into 200 level. IMSU requires 'O' Level pass in English Language.

(vii) UNILORIN accepts;

a) At least two (2) ‘A’ Level Credit pass in Chemistry and any other science related subjects (i.e. Biology, Physics or Integrated science, computer science). ((Minimum of 6 points in IJMB or JUPEP is also acceptable).

b) NCE (Distinction/ Merit passes) in Education, Chemistry and Biology or Integrated science: Plus five (5) “O” Level credit passes ( English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics and any other two (2)  relevant science subjects).

(viii)  FUK require Two A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Mathematics or Biology Credit passes in ND, NCE/IJMB Lab. Sci. or NCE Chemistry, Biology or Physics and relevant IJMB combination.

(ix) ADSU same as in Biology Education.

(x)  ATBU accepts NCE pass with five (5) years teaching experience.

(xi)  MAUTECH accepts NCE/ND/HND Credit Pass in chemistry or other relevant fields.  IJMB/'A' Level credit passes including Chemistry and other one relevant science Subject.

(xii) UNILAG accepts NCE with credit/merit in Chemistry and any Science subject. Very good passes in the following JUPEB subjects: Chemistry, Physics and Biology

(xiii)   UMYU accepts candidates with a minimum of 9 points in IJMB/HSC/GCE ‘A’ Level/NCE in Chemistry and any other relevant subject. Candidates with a minimum of lower credit pass in Diploma in Chemistry Education from recognized institution may also be admitted.

(xiv) TASUED accepts ND/HND upper credit in Chemistry and Science Laboratory Technology with option in Chemistry.

(xv)  BOWEN accepts IJMB/NCE/ND or approved equivalent in Chemistry and either Mathematics or Physics.

(xvi)   UNIOSUN accepts NCE and approved equivalents with a lower credit pass.

(xvii)  IAUED accepts five (5) `0` Level credit passes including Mathematics and English Language, plus Diploma or NCE in Chemistry at credit level or 2 credits passed at advanced Level.

(xviii)UNN accepts:
      (a) ND in other programme at distinction, credit or merit level. Candidates who possess the University requirements plus credit in the teaching subject may be considered for direct entry admission but will run the four (4)-Year programme.

    (b) NCE credit/merit passes in addition to TCII merit or 'O’ Level credit passes in relevant subjects.

(xix)   MAKURDI accepts:
    (a) two (2) 'A’ Level passes in physics 

    (b) Holders of the UTME requirements plus 'A’ Level passes in the relevant science subjects.                  

    (c) ND holders with upper credits in relevant programme who possess the UTME requirements.

   (d) NCE holders with two (2) credit passes in relevant subjects who possess the UTME requirements may be admitted into 200 level.

(xx) YABATECH accepts  Two (2) A Level/NCE passes including Chemistry and one (1) other Science subject.

(xxi) SSU accepts Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) or Diploma in Science Education with minimum of merit.

 (xxii) AAUA accepts NCE merit including Chemistry Education, and one (1) other relevant teaching subject.

(xxiii)   FUDMA  Same as in Bsc Chemistry

(xxiv)  DELSU requires at least merit passes and above in Chemistry and Education or any other subject at NCE or above GCE 'A’ Level passes which must include Chemistry.

(xxv) ABU accepts  NCE with ‘C’ grade in Education and Chemistry. IJMB or ‘A’ level with a minimum of ‘C’ grade in Chemistry and a minimum of ‘D’ grade in one other Science subject from Biology, Physics, Geography. ABU Diploma in Chemistry Education with Merit pass.

(xxvi) EBSU accepts:

a) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer, Mathematics or Integrated Science.

b) HND and NCE/OND with minimum of Merit and Upper credit respectively.

(xxvi) UNIUYO requires;

a) NCE in relevant subject(s) with an overall merit pass or above for a three-year degree programme.

b) Advanced level GCE or JUPEB in two (2) relevant subjects.

(xxvii) UNIPORT accepts Two (2) A/level GCE or HSC or JUPEB or IJMB passes in the relevant subjects including UTME entry requirements. NCE with Credit passes in the relevant subjects including UTME entry requirements.
