Igbo can be studied under the Arts & Humanities in the following Nigerian Universities;
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Igbo under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities in the above listed universities include;
Igbo and two (2) subjects from Arts and social Sciences.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNILAG requires English Language and any three Arts, Science or Social Sciences.
The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Igbo;
You require;Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Igbo, English Language and any other Arts subject.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UI requires five (5) or six (6) 'O' Level credit passes at one or two (2) sitting to include English Language and two (2) other Arts subjects one of which must be Igbo.
(ii) UNILAG requires Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and any three Arts, Science or Social Sciences. Social Studies and Civic Education are also accepted.
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Igbo, if you don't intend to use UTME.
You require;(i) Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Igbo and one (1) Arts/Social Sciences subject.
(ii) NCE in Igbo and one Arts subject.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UI accepts NCE merit/credit in Igbo and another Arts or Social Sciences. Accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes to include Yoruba and another Arts or Social Science subject.
(ii) UNILAG accepts Very good passes in three JUPEB/A’ Level subjects in Igbo/Yoruba and any two of History, CRS/IRS, French, Government, Music, Visual Arts, and Literature-in-English. NCE (Merit) in two subjects to include a Nigerian Language. LASU Diploma in Communication Arts.
