Economics can be studied under the Arts & Humanities in the following Nigerian Universities;

In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Economics under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities in the above listed universities include;
Economics, Mathematics and any of Government, History Geography, Literature in English, French and CRS/IRS.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) FUD accepts any Social Science subject as the third (3rd) subject.
(ii) FULOKOJA requires Economics, Mathematics and any of Government, History, Geography and Financial Accounting.
(iii) FUWUKARI requires Economics, Mathematics, any of Government/History/ Geography/ Literature in English, CRK/IRK.
(iv) FUK Mathematics Economics and any of Government, History, Geography, Literature in English, French, IRS & CRS
The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Economics;
You require;Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and at least two (2) other relevant subjects from Commerce, Government and Accounting .
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) FUD accepts any two (2) Arts or Social Science subjects as the fourth (4th) and fifth (5th) subjects.
(ii) FUWUKARI accepts Five (5) credits at not more than two sittings including English Language, Mathematics and Economics and any two from the following subjects: Commerce/Financial Accounting, Business Methods/Insurance/ Book Keeping Government/History/Civic Education, Literature in English, Geography, and Statistics, obtained from Senior School Certificate (SSCE), National Examination Council (NECO), National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) or its equivalent.
(iii) FULOKOJA accepts Five SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two of Arts or Social Science subjects.
(iv) FUK requires Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Economics and two other relevant subjects preferable in Commence, Government and Accounting.
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Economics, if you don't intend to use UTME.
You require;ND/NCE with upper/merit credit in the relevant programme in addition to five (5) credit passes at SSC at not more than two (2) sittings
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) FUWUKARI - Direct Entry candidates must obtain a pass in Two A/L Subjects one of which must be Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Government or Geography from GCE A/L, IJMB or Advanced NABTEB or a Merit pass at NCE Level or at least a credit in OND/HND in relevant fields. Candidates must also satisfy the O/L requirement for admission.
(ii) FULOKOJA accepts In addition to meeting the UTME Entry Requirements; 2 A’ Level Passes in Economics & any one of Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, Financial Accounts, Business Management., History and Government; IJMB minimum of 10 points with passes in relevant subjects; NCE Credit pass in 2 NCE teaching subjects including Economics; ND upper credit in Dip. in Accounts. Business Administration, Marketing & Banking & Finance. (not more than 5 yrs); HND lower credit in Dip. in Accounts. Business Administration, Marketing & Banking & Finance. (not more than 5 yrs); Degree (Third Class) in relevant courses from any recognized institution.
(iii) FUK accepts Two 'A’ Level passes in Economics and any of History/Government, Science, Social Science and Management subjects or Credit passes at NCE or ND or IJMB with at least 9 points in relevant subjects.
(iv) FUD accepts a) Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Economics and any one(1) of Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Accounting, Business Management, History and Government. b) ND credit in the relevant programme in addition to five (5) 'O' Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two (2) sittings.
