Animal Production can be studied under the Agriculture in the following Nigerian Universities;
MOUAU Offers the course with options in:
(i)Animal Breeding and Physiology
(ii)Animal Nutrition and Forage Science
(iii)Animal Production and Management
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Animal Production under the Faculty of Agriculture in the above listed universities include;
Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and Physics/Mathematics.
The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Animal Production;
You require;Five SSCE credit passes in Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Physics and English Language
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) ADSU and ATBU accept 'O' level pass in Physics with 'O' level pass in Mathematics or vice-versa
(ii) MOUAU accepts Five (5) 'O’ level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings to include: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, or Agricultural Science and any other science subjects; requires at least ‘O’ level pass in Physics. ‘O’ level credit in Agricultural Science must be backed up with at least ‘O’ level pass in Biology
(x) FUTMINNA accepts any one of Physics, geography, Economics, Home Economics, Food and nutrition as the fifth subject. At least a pass in Physics is required.
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Animal Production, if you don't intend to use UTME.
You require;Two ‘A’ Level passes or equivalent in Chemistry and one of Biology/Botany /Zoology/Agricultural Science/ Geography/Geology/ Mathematics/Economics.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) ATBU and FUTMINNA accept NCE, ND, HND with overall credit passes in each of the Agricultural components of the programme or a minimum of lower credit plus four (4) 'O' level credit passes in relevant subjects.
(ii) MOUAU - requires ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and Biology/Botany/Zoology/Agricultural Science.
(v) ADSU accepts ND distinction, HND credit, NCE credit double major in Agriculture
