Agronomy can be studied under the Agriculture in the following Nigerian Universities;
(i) ADSU with options in: Crop Production, Crop Protection, and Soil Science.
(ii) ESUT as Agronomy and Ecological Management
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Agronomy under the Faculty of Agriculture in the above listed universities include;
Chemistry, Biology or Agriculture and Physics or Mathematics.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNIOSUN requires Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture and any other science subject.
The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Agronomy;
You require;Five (5) SSC credit passes in Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics, Biology and Geography or Economics.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
(i) ESUT accepts ‘O’ level pass in Physics.
(ii) UNIOSUN requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes in the SSC or its equivalent at not more than two (2) sittings in addition to an acceptable score in the UTME
(iii) TASU requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes in Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language and one of Physics, Geography or Economics. UTME requirements with 'O' Level pass in Physics is acceptable.
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Agronomy, if you don't intend to use UTME.
You require;Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry/Biology/Botany/Zoology/Agricultural Science plus one of Mathematics/Physics and Geology/ Economics
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNIOSUN accepts Two (2) 'A' level credit passes in chemistry and one from Biology, Agriculture, Physics, Geography and Mathematics
(ii) TASU accepts ND credit in Crop Production Technology plus the UTME requirements.
