  • ABSU & MAIDUGURI: Accept ND Agriculture into 100 level (Note: EUI accepts it into 200 level).

  • ABU: Accepts:

    • Two (2) ‘A’ Level / IJMB passes in Chemistry and any of Biology, Botany, Zoology, or Agricultural Science.

    • HND or ND in Agriculture or a related field with a minimum of a Lower Credit.

  • ABUAD: Requires ‘A’ Level passes (or equivalent approved by Senate) in at least two (2) subjects including Biology and any of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

  • AAU:

    • Accepts Chemistry, Biology, or Agriculture at ‘A’ Level.

    • Accepts ND (Upper Credit) in Agricultural Science and HND in Agriculture (not below Credit pass).

    • Accepts ND/NCE Credit in Agricultural Science with at least a pass in Physics at 'O' Level.

  • BAYERO: Requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Biology or Agriculture. Accepts ND, NCE Agriculture (Double Major), or NCE with Chemistry and Biology/Agriculture.

  • BINGHAM, AJAYI, & AAU: Require an 'A' Level pass in Accounts; accept ND in Accounting, Banking and Finance, or Business Management.

  • BIU: Accepts ND/NCE distinction or credit into 200 level (requires a minimum of two relevant subjects passed at GCE 'A' level or NCE merit).

  • BOWEN: Accepts NCE/ND or approved equivalent in relevant programs, or IJMB at acceptable passes. For Food Science and Technology, at least an 'O' Level pass in Physics is required.

  • DELSU: Requires:

    • ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any of Biology, Agricultural Science, Physics, and Economics.

    • ND with a minimum of Upper Credit plus 5 O’ Level credits (admits into 200 level).

    • NCE with a Merit pass in Agricultural Science.

  • EBSU & UMUDIKE: Accept ND Distinction/Credit, and HND Credit into 200 level. Candidates holding an ND Lower Credit or NCE Double Major at Credit/Merit level are admitted into 100 level.

  • EKSU: Requires a minimum of a credit pass in Physics. Accepts ND Upper Credit in Agriculture-related programs or a Forestry Assistant Certificate from IITA, Ibadan.

  • FED-DUTSE: Accepts:

    • Two ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and one from Biology/Botany/Zoology/Agric Science, Economics, Physics, Geography, or Geology/Mathematics.

    • ND in Crop Production, Agronomy, Agric Extension, or Farm Management with a Merit pass.

    • NCE with Merit in Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science Double Major.

  • FED-DUTSINMA: Requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Biology/Botany/Agricultural Science/Zoology/Physics.

  • FED-GASHUA: Requires two (2) 'A' Level passes in Chemistry and one from Biology/Botany/Zoology/Agric. Science. Accepts OND/ND (Upper Credit), HND (Lower Credit), and NCE (Merit and above) into 200 Level. Gives consideration to candidates with a pass in Physics if they have a credit in Geography/Economics.

  • FED-KASHERE: Requires an ND with a minimum of Lower Credit, or NCE/IJMB with at least 9 Points in relevant areas.

  • FED OYE-EKITI: Requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and one from Biology/Botany/Zoology/Agricultural Science, Economics, Physics, or Geography. For Animal Production and Health, Geology is also accepted.

  • FED-WUKARI: Direct Entry candidates must obtain two 'A' Level passes (GCE, IJMB, or Advanced NABTEB) which must include Chemistry, OR obtain at least a Merit at NCE, OR a Lower Credit in OND/HND.

  • FUTO: Accepts:

    • At least two (2) 'A' level passes (not below Grade C) in Chemistry and any one of Zoology, Botany, Agricultural Science, Biology, Mathematics, Physics, and Economics.

    • OND/HND at Upper Credit in Life Sciences, or a First Degree in Life Sciences.

    • Very good passes in three JUPEB subjects (Chemistry and any two of Biology/Agric Science, Mathematics, Physics). Does not accept NCE.

  • IBADAN & UMUDIKE: Accept ND or HND in related fields. Ibadan Agricultural candidates must apply to read General Agriculture until the 500 level when specialized options become available.

  • ILORIN: Accepts ND/NCE Credit pass in Agriculture into 200 level; HND holders may be admitted into 300 level. Also accepts NCE Merit in Biology, Chemistry, or Agriculture, and ND Merit in Banking/Finance or Business Management (plus UTME requirements).

  • IMSU: Accepts ND/NCE Double Major or HND in Agriculture (or related disciplines) with at least a Merit pass into 200 level, and HND (Upper Credit) into 300 level.

  • KASU: Accepts two ‘A’ Level passes including Chemistry and one of Biology, Botany, Zoology, Agric Science, Physics, Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Health Science, and Economics. Also accepts ND/HND Lower Credit, or NCE Merit, or IJMB (7 points and above).

  • KSUSTA: Requires two (2) 'A' Level passes in Chemistry and one from Biology/Botany/Zoology/Agricultural Science, Economics, Physics, Geography, or Geology/Mathematics.

  • KUST: Accepts NCE Merit and ND Upper Credit in Chemistry/Biology or any relevant qualification.

  • LANDMARK: Matches the baseline requirement (Chemistry + 1 from Biology/Botany/Zoology/Agric, Economics, Physics, Geography, Geology/Math).

  • LAPAI & ILORIN: Explicitly require ‘A’ Level passes in both Chemistry and Biology.

  • LAPAI: Accepts ND Upper Credit in Agriculture plus five (5) relevant credit passes at SSC.

  • MAIDUGURI, IBADAN, & AAU: Accept NCE Merit in Agriculture (Double Major).

  • PHC (Port Harcourt): Accepts two 'A' Level passes (GCE/HSC/JUPEB/IJMB) in Agricultural Science and any one from Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Economics. Accepts OND (Upper Credit) into 200 level, and HND (at least Lower Credit) or Diploma in Agriculture (minimum Credit pass) into a 3-year degree programme.

  • RSU (Rivers State University): Accepts:

    • HND (Lower Credit) or OND/ND (Upper Credit) in related disciplines.

    • NCE with credit passes in Biology or Agric Science (admitted into 2nd year).

    • Two (2) HSC/GCE 'A' Level passes in Chemistry and Biology.

  • UDU & ABU: Accept ND Distinction, HND Credit, and NCE Double Major at Credit level in Agriculture. UDU specifically accepts ND Upper Credit and HND Lower Credit.

  • UMUDIKE: Requires ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Biology/Botany/Zoology/Agricultural Science.

UTME 'O' Level Credit Requirements (Agriculture)

General Rule: Most universities require 5 credits in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, and Physics. Below are the specific variations:

  • ABU: Requires 5 credits including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology or Agricultural Science.

  • ABUAD: Requires credits in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.

  • BABCOCK: Requires credits in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric Science, and either Physics/Geography or Home Economics/Food & Nutrition.

  • DELSU: Requires 5 credits including English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, and at least a pass in Physics (obtained in not more than 2 sittings).

  • FED-DUTSE & PHC: Require 5 credits including English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, and any one of Physics, Geography, or Economics.

  • FED-DUTSINMA: Requires 5 credits in English, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics, and Physics/Geography/Economics.

  • FED-GASHUA: Requires 5 credits to include English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric Science, and Physics.

  • FED OYE-EKITI: 5 credits including Mathematics, English, Biology/Agric Science, Chemistry, and Physics/Geography/Economics.

    • For Soil Science, Crop Science, & Animal Production: Standard 5 credits, but will give consideration to candidates with a pass in Physics.

  • FED-WUKARI: 5 credits at not more than two sittings in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Science, and any one from Physics, Geography, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Economics, or Forestry.

  • FUTO: Requires 5 credits in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, and any other subject (max 2 sittings), with at least a pass in Physics.

  • IBADAN: Requires 5 credits including English, Biology/Agric Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, and any one of Geography, Physics, or Economics.

  • IBADAN, EKSU, ILORIN, & TASUED: Require an 'O' Level credit pass in Agricultural Science to be backed up with at least a pass in Biology.

  • IMSU: Accepts a pass in Mathematics if backed by a credit in Physics, and vice versa.

  • KASU: Requires 5 credits including English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and one other Science subject.

  • KSUSTA & LANDMARK: Require 5 credits including English, Biology/Agric Science, Chemistry, and any one of Mathematics, Physics, Geography, or Economics.

  • OOU, EKSU, BIU, & ILORIN: Accept an 'O' Level pass in Physics.

  • PAAU (Kogi State Uni): Requires 5 credits including English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric Science, and Economics or any other Science/Social Science subject, with at least a pass in Physics. Credit in Agric Science must be backed by a pass in Biology.

  • RSU: Requires 5 credits to include English, Mathematics, Economics, Chemistry, and Biology or Agricultural Science.

  • UDU & AAU: Explicitly accept an 'O' Level pass in English Language.

  • UMUDIKE: Requires 5 credits (max 2 sittings) in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agric Science, plus any other science subject. Requires at least a pass in Physics. Credit in Agric Science must be backed by a pass in Biology.
