Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements


In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Agricultural Economics under the Faculty of Agriculture in the above listed universities include;

Chemistry, Biology/ Agricultural Science and Mathematics or Physics.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) FUTO requires Chemistry, and any two (2) of Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics and Physics.

(ii) LANDMARK requires English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural science and Physics or Economics or any social science subject.

O'Level Requirements


The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Agricultural Economics;

You require;

Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and one of Geography, Physics and Economics.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) DELSU accepts ‘O’ level pass in English Language.

(ii) UNIBEN accepts Statistics and Further Mathematics. Also requires at least 'O' Level pass in Physics and 'O' Level pass in Biology for candidates with 'O' Level credit pass in Agricultural Science.

(iii) OAU does not require 'O' Level credit passes in Geography and Economics.

(iv) UNIOSUN same as in Fisheries.

(v) MOUAU  requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and any other Science subject. Also 'O' Level credit pass in Agricultural Science must be backed up with 'O' Level pass in Biology

(vi) UNIOSUN requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes in   the SSC or its equivalent at not more than two (2) sittings in line with the UTME requirements.

(vii) UNN accepts five (5) 'O’ Level credit passes in subjects which must include English Language, Biology/or Agricultural Science, Chemistry and either Mathematics or Physics.

(viii) FUTO requires at least five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any other subject, in not more than two (2) sittings. At least a Pass is required in Physics.

(ix) LAUTECH requires English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any of Physics/ Economics/Geography.

(x) LANDMARK requires Chemistry and any two of Biology, Agricultural sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Economics.

Direct Entry Requirements


These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Agricultural Economics, if you don't intend to use UTME.

You require;

Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and one of Zoology/Botany/Agricultural Science/Biology, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Geology, Economics and Health Science.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) UNN accept

(a)   Two (2) 'A' Level passes in Chemistry and any of Biology/Botany/Zoology/Agricultural Science. Economics, Physics Geography/Geology, Mathematics (Pure & Applied) in addition to the UTME  requirements.

(b)   ND/NCE/HND and Degree in Agricultural Science/Animal Health and related programs with a minimum of lower credit/merit in addition to UTME requirements.

(ii) OAU accepts

(a)   Two (2) `A' Level passes in Chemistry and one of Zoology/ Botany/ Agricultural Science/ Biology, Mathematics, Physics, or Economics.

(b)   HND/ND in Agriculture obtained at upper credit level from recognized Institution.

(iii) UNIBEN accepts ND upper credit/HND lower credit in any one of Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, and Cooperatives, Fisheries, Forestry & Wildlife Mgt., Geology, Advanced Microbiology, Food and Brewing Science, Science Laboratory Technology plus the UTME requirements. NCE merit in Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics plus the UTME requirements. Does not accept ‘A’ Level pass in Health Science.

(iv) DELSU accepts upper credit only.  DELSU also accepts NCE credit in Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

(v) MOUAU as in Agriculture.

(vi) DELSU accepts ND/HND upper credit only.

(vii) FUTO

At least two (2) ‘A’ level passes not below Grade C in Chemistry and any one of Zoology, Botany, Agricultural Science, Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Economics.

b)       OND/HND at Upper Credit in Life Sciences.

c)       First Degree in Life Sciences.

d)       Very good passes in three JUPEB subjects namely Chemistry and any two (2) of   Biology/ Agricultural Science, Mathematics and Physics. It does not accept NCE. Candidates must in addition meet the ‘O’ Level requirements.

(viii) UNIOSUN same as in Fisheries.

(ix) LAUTECH requires Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any of Physics/Economics /Geography.

(x) LANDMARK accepts Two (2) A level passes in Chemistry and one of Zoology/Botany/Agricultural Science/Biology, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Geology, Economics and Health Science.
