Local Government Studies can be studied under the Social & Management Sciences in the following Nigerian Universities;
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Local Government Studies under the Faculty of Social & Management Sciences in the above listed universities include;
Government or History and any two of Economics, Commerce, Geography and Mathematics.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
i) KAD-POLY accepts Literature in English, CRS/IS and Agricultural Science/Biology among optional subjects.
The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Local Government Studies;
You require;Five (5) SSCE credit passes in English Language not Literature in English and Mathematics and any three (3) subjects from the following
Economics/Commerce,
Business Methods,
Principles of Accounts,
Literature in English
Geography
Office Practice
Government,
Biology/Agricultural Science,
Chemistry,
Physics,
History/Government
Typewriting
Shorthand.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
i) IBD-POLY and KAD-POLY require 'O' Level credit passes to include English Language and 'O' Level pass in Mathematics.
ii) IBD-POLY requires 'O' Level credit pass in Government. Accepts CRS/IS, Yoruba, History and 'O' Level in Mathematics. Also accepts any of the listed O\Level course requirements as UTME subjects.
iii) PLAPOLY requires 'O' Level credit passes in English Language and three (3) others from Government/History, Economics, Commerce, Geography, Biology/Agricultural Science, IS/CRS.
iv) KAN-POLY accepts Certificate in Local Government Studies or Public Administration of Kano Polytechnic plus five (5) 'O' Level credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Economics, Accounts, Government/History, Biology, Agricultural Science, Geography, Commerce.
v) COABS accepts Certificate Course of the College or from any recognised institution OR any other qualification recognised by the College Academic Board.
