Hospitality Management can be studied under the Social & Management Sciences in the following Nigerian Universities;
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Hospitality Management under the Faculty of Social & Management Sciences in the above listed universities include;
Biology/Agricultural Science and two (2) of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Economics
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
i) IMT-ENU requires Biology/Agricultural Science, Physics and Chemistry.
ii) NEKEDEPOLY accepts any three (3) of Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics, and one (1) Social Science subject.
iii) BAUCHIPOLY requires any three (3) subjects from Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Economics, Biology, Agricultural Science, Commerce, Home Economics, French and Government/History.
iv) WAVECREST requires Biology/Agricultural Science/Health Science/Geography and any two (2) of Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Commerce or Marketing.
v) YABATECH requires Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics and Economics.
The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Hospitality Management;
You require;Five (5) SSCE credit passes in Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics and any three (3) of the following: Geography, Food and Nutrition, Economics, Technical Drawing, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Nigerian Language, Home Economics. 'O' Level credit passes in English Language and Chemistry are compulsory.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
i) YABATECH requires five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science and any two (2) of the following: Geography, Food and Nutrition/Catering Craft, Health Science, Government. Commerce, Principles of Accounts, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, O Level credit passes in English Language and Chemistry are compulsory.
ii) WAVECREST is not a co-educational school and admits only female candidates. It requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes in Biology or Agricultural Science and any four (4) of the following Physics, Chemistry, Economics/Commerce/Accounting/Government, Geography, Food and Nutrition/Home Management, English Language, Mathematics.
iii) PLA-POLY requires 'O' Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Economics, Health Science, Food & Nutrition, Geography.
iv) KWAPOLY accepts Basic Electricity, Health Science, Basic Catering & Food Service, Hotel & Catering Craft Service (Cookery), Hotel & Catering Craft Service (Foods & Drinks Service) as course requirements, but Chemistry is not compulsory as a requirement for the course.
v) For RUGIPO, 'O' Level credit pass in Chemistry is not compulsory.
vi) EDEPOLY requires 'O' Level credit pass in Chemistry and does not accept Technical drawing, Nigerian language and Home Economics
vii) ILAROPOLY requires O' level credit pass in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science/Health Science and any two of the following: Physics, Chemistry, Government, Business Methods, Economics/Commerce, Book Keeping and Principles of Accounting, Food and Nutrition/Home Management, Health Science, Civic Education, Tourism, Tie & Dye, Data Processing, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Geography, Home Economics, French Language, Basic Catering, Food Service, Hotel & Catering Craft Service, Geography, and Relevant NTC/NBC &NVC Trades.
ix) FEDPO-AIU requires 'O' Level credit passes in Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any three (3) of Geography, Food and Nutrition, Physics and Economics. It does not accept Economics as UTME subject.
x) AKANUPOLY requires 'O' Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography and any other subject. 'O' Level pass in Chemistry is required.
xi) NEKEDEPOLY requires 'O' Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography and any two (2) subjects from Food and Nutrition, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Home Economics and any Social Science subject, ICT/Data Processing or Computer Studies.
xii) EDEPOLY requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology / Agricultural Science / Health Science and any two (2) from the following. Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Economics, Commerce, Government, Food and Nutrition, Home Economics, Catering Craft and Tourism.
xiv) BAUCHIPOLY requires 'O' Level credit passes in Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics and any three (3) subjects from Geography, Food and Nutrition, Economics, Technical Drawing, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Nigerian Language, Home Economics. Credit passes in English Language and Chemistry are compulsory.
xv) WAVECREST accepts five (5) 'O' Level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings to include Biology/Agricultural Science/Health Science/Geography and any four (4) of English Language, Economics, Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Physics, Food and Nutrition, Home Management, Catering Craft or Marketing.
