O'level Requirements

Five (5) SSCE credit passes in English Language, Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVERS)

 

(i) IMSU accepts Maths in lieu of Physics.

Direct Entry Requirements

The direct entry requirements for Optometry in the Faculty of Medical, Pharmaceutical & Health Sciences are as follows:

‘A' level passes in  Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Zoology

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVERS)

 

(i)  ABSU awards Doctor of Optometry (O.D) and accepts B.Sc in relevant programme, HND/ND of  Opthalmonic and Dispensing

(ii)  FUTO requires at least three (3) ‘A’ level passes not below C in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Zoology.  It also accepts ND/HND (Upper Credit) in Optometry.  Candidates must in addition meet the UTME ‘O’ level requirements.  It accepts First Degree holders with a minimum of Second Class honours in health related programmes.  It does not accept NCE.

(iii)  IMSU - No Direct Entry.
