An overlaid seam (or Flat Fell Seam) is used to enclose and flatten the raw edges of the fabric together, effectively "blinding" them. This technique creates a very strong and durable seam with a neat finish on both the inside and outside, making it ideal for items like jeans, work clothes, or pajamas.
