(b} Major sources of air polutants: gases and particles discharged from industrial plants - Smoke from the exhaust of vehicles, marine vessels, aeroplanes and trains, - domestic fires; radio-active fall outs, gas flaring from oil fields, - Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) from freezers and coolants; - fumes from from insecticide sprays, - fumes from herbicides, dust dust particles from surface mining/quarries, - dust storms; - bush burning; - cloud seeding; - VolcaniC eruption; noise from loud speakers, explosios from bombs, guns and artilleries; - burning of tyres.
(c) Effects of atmospheric pollution: - climate increase in Change/green house eftect, atmospheric temperature; - depletion of the ozone layer destruction of vegetation and cropsS migration/death/extinction of some animal specieS, thavwing/melting of permanent ice rising of sea level; - submergence of low-lyıng Coastlands and islands;-health hazards, e.g. lung diseases, cancers, hearing impairment, etc.; - cause of acid rain; - poor visibility; - defacing of buildings and monuments; makes rain water unfit for domestic use.
