(a) The four atmospheric resources are
(i) solar energy
(ii) water vapour
(iii) wind
(iv) gases
(v) water
(vi) vegetation
(i) Solar energy: It is used for generating energy when carefully harnessed for the production of electricity. It also provides vitamin 'D' and light. Solar energy is used in drying crops and clothes. It serves as energy for photosynthesis in plants
(ii) Water vapour: It is important for rain formation and makes the atmosphere fresh. Water vapour is useful to man and plants
(iii) Wind: Wind helps to modify the weather: It is responsible for the dispersal of seed and aid drying of clothes and crops. It also aids the formation and distribution of rainfall. The harnessed wind mills aid winnowing process of cereals. Wind aids sailing boats.
(iv) Gases: The two major gases that are of immense importance are oxygen and nitrogen
(i) Oxygen: Oxygen supports animal life and aids breathing in man. It also supports combustion
(ii) Nitrogen: Provides food for plant growth. It is useful in the process of soil formation. Nitrogen aids process of photosynthesis and breathing in plants
