Eastern scarpland Western Highlands

(a) Relief 
(i) Scarplands with average elevation of about 300m above the sea level
(ii) Alternating Plateau and Cuestas separated by wide Manu-Oji river valley (iii) Made up of sandstones eg. Udi hills 

- Curved ridges higher than Eastern Scarpland average elevation between 300-600m above the sea level.
- It is heavily dissected by rivers 
- Made up of granites eg Idanre hills 

(b) People and population:
(i) Tribes are Igbo, Igala
(ii) Population density of over 200 persons/sq km
(iii) Simple dressing 

Largely Yoruba Over 200 persons per sq km Voluminous way of dressing 

(c) Settlement patterns; 
(i) Mainly rural
(ii) Nucleated
(iii) Few linear settlement 

Highly urbanised Nucleated More linear settlement 

(d) Agriculture;
(i) Food crops include yam, coco-yarn, cassava maize, rice
(ii) Cash crops, e.g Oil-palms, citrus, cashew nuts
(iii) Livestock farming -goatS, sheep, Ndama cattle 

Casava, rice, yam, maize, plantain Cocoa, rubber, citrus, coffee, oil palm, kola nuts Coat, chicken, sheep, Muturu cattle
