(a) Environmental resource is any resource within our environment which is useful to man
(b) The importance of water as an environmental resource include the following:
(i) Rain water enables our crops to grow
(ii) Water from rivers can be used for construction of hydro-electric power supply (H. E. P)
(iii) Rainwater and water from rivers can be used for domestic and industrial uses
(iv) Rivers and seas provide employment for many people e.g fishermen
(v) Rivers, ponds, lakes, oceans provide food in form of protein to man e.g fish, shrimps crabs, etc
(vi) Rivers and ocean can be used for tourist centres
(c) Three sources of water:
(i) Rain water
(ii) Water from rivers
(iii) Water from the ground (ponds or wells)
