The area of a sector of a circle is 3cm\(^2\). If the sector subtends an angle of 1.5 radians at the centre. Calculate the radius of the circle
Area of sector, A = 3cm
Angle, θ = 1.5 rad
Recall A = \(\frac{θ}{360}\) x πr\(^2\)
where 360 = 2π rad
3 = \(\frac{1.5}{2π}\) x πr\(^2\)
3 = \(\frac{1.5}{2}\) x r\(^2\)
3 x 2 = 1.5 r\(^2\)
\(\frac{6}{1.5}\) = r\(^2\)
4 = r\(^2\)
r = \(\sqrt{4}\) = 2cm
