in this register, the act of not fulfilling one's end of the bargain is called a breach. Violation is not used in this register rather it is that of law. Though they have little relationship, a contract is 'breached' not 'violated'

Jambs always make things hard. Violation is very similar to breach in terms of contract. I pick breach but violation is very similar in my opinion
