The selected answer is correct

Uncountable noun goes with singular verb

While Countable noun goes with plural verb
Eg: Some of the boys are here (Boys_ Countable, Are - Plural)

Some of the milk has spoilt
Milk _ Uncountable
Verb _ plural

I hope this helps🙂🙂

For the food to have some that means they are 2 or more food there
So if we want to refer to the total food
We can say
The whole food were spoilt
But we are using some in the sentence,
some that means each one of the food is spoilt
